Factur-X 1.07.3 Specification Released

Factur-X 1.07.3 was released on 7 May 2025 with ZUGFeRD 2.3.3 — what it changed, and which versions have followed since.

The Factur-X 1.07.3 specification was released on 7 May 2025 together with its German twin ZUGFeRD 2.3.3, and took effect on 15 May 2025. It refined the interoperability rules for PDF/A-3 documents carrying embedded XML invoice data.

What changed

  • Updated code lists aligned with EN 16931.
  • New document codes related to the French e-invoicing reform.
  • VATEX codes for VAT exemptions and transactions outside the scope of VAT.
  • Corrections to the examples and the technical documentation.

The format has moved on since: Factur-X 1.08 (ZUGFeRD 2.4) was published in December 2025, Factur-X 1.09 (ZUGFeRD 2.5) on 10 June 2026, followed by the ZUGFeRD 2.5.2 corrigendum of 4 August 2026. See our overview of ZUGFeRD versions.

Built on the standard in force

E-Rechnung Pro creates and validates documents against EN 16931:2017 — the version ZUGFeRD 2.x and Factur-X are built on today. We are following the EN 16931-1:2026 revision and will support it as the formats adopt it.
